Begin to unpack worldviews and understand Indigenous Ways of Being, Thinking, and Doing. Develop a deeper understanding as we dive into a brief colonial timeline, exploring how colonial approaches were intentional in their outcomes, disrupting, disconnecting, and displacing Indigenous Peoples across the world. Walk away with strategies to develop greater understanding, empathy, and connection with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

1. Beyond Indigenous Contexts: While our focus is on Indigenous peoples, true belonging is universal. We often create spaces based on our own needs and cultural reference points. This workshop will help you recognize and transcend these biases.

2. Emotional and Cultural Intelligence: Discover how enhancing emotional intelligence alongside cultural intelligence can lead to profound transformation. Move beyond tokenism to achieve genuine, lasting change.

3. Commitment to the Process: Understand that there is no ‘silver bullet.’ True change requires a long-term commitment and personal effort, best supported by professionals in this space.

4. Psychological Safety: Learn in a safe, supportive environment where you can ask any question, no matter how ‘silly’ it may seem. Change happens when we step out of our comfort zones, but it’s crucial to do so in a space where you feel secure.

Join us online during Indigenous Business Month for a special panel discussion exploring the importance of Aboriginal perspectives in the early childhood and lower primary school space! 

Bringing Aboriginal Knowledge into classrooms has the potential to set up our children to be lifelong, respectful learners; to teach them to be inquisitive about the world around them, and to see things through the eyes of others; it truly can help to create empathetic individuals who place value on the perspectives of others. 

As an Aboriginal business working in the education space, we know though that there is often confusion and even fear about how to go about engaging in this area. This online yarn will hopefully help remove some of this apprehension, as we discuss the 'why' and 'how' to share Aboriginal culture in your early childhood and lower primary classrooms.
